New page

A fairly recent and handy addition to AmigaOS, paths to all the programs and applications you have ever ran are stored on your hard disk in a central location*.

This is useful if you move programs around and the path changes, or you rename a driver or drawer. For example if you have added Timberwolf to AmiDock you could set the path in AmiDock preferences purely as APPDIR:Timberwolf and it will still be found by AmiDock and ran.

Another use is in the configuration of DefIcons to ensure that Workbench can always find the desired viewer/player even if you have moved it to a different place.
