It provides one of the means of interaction with AmigaOS and is typically the first screen that is displayed when AmigaOS is finished booting. It is composed of a menu system that is accessed by clicking the right mouse button or pointing the mouse pointer at the top of the screen and clicking the right mouse button; icons that are initially visible on the screen and can be displayed by double-clicking the individual image with the left mouse button; and an optional docking system that can be used to organize and control the look and feel of the icon display.

Workbench Preferences allows the user to configure and control this GUI and the programs to which it refers. Currently (2023), the Preferences are found by pointing the mouse into the main area of the Workbench and clicking and holding the right mouse button. A menu panel then appears which shows 11 choices, one of which is Workbench Preferences. Hold down the right mouse button and hover over the Preferences menu item to access the 32 programs that determine, in large part, how the Workbench is presented and functions.
Brian Deneen https://wiki.amigaos.net/wiki/AmiWest_2022_DevCon AmiWest 2022 DevCon 2023-10-28T20:13:22Z
Ray Sbaitso: Created page with "After a year off during AmiWest 2021, DevCon returned for AmiWest 2022. {| class="wikitable" | October 20, 2022 || 0:22:50 - 2:21:45 ||| Camilla Boemann discusses using Codec..."

After a year off during AmiWest 2021, DevCon returned for AmiWest 2022.

{| class="wikitable"
| October 20, 2022 || 0:22:50 - 2:21:45 ||| Camilla Boemann discusses using Codecraft, the powerful IDE for developing software natively on the Amiga |||| [https://youtu.be/f-2JM85q81Y?t=1370 Link]
|-
| October 20, 2022 || 2:33:32 - 3:50:55 ||| Jerry Grey discusses Blitz Basic and general game development |||| [https://youtu.be/f-2JM85q81Y?t=9212 Link]
|-
|}
Ray Sbaitso
