Kicklayout is a small text file found in SYS:Kickstart that governs which modules are loaded when your Amiga boots cold.

Beginners should not edit this file, however if you are confident enough to do you can increase fast your Amiga boots by editing this file.

You should probably start by making a backup copy first so that you can revert any potential errors such as not being able to boot. Stopping modules from loading is simply a case of entering a semi-colon at the start of the line:

E.g. ;MODULE Kickstart/bootimage

This particular example will result in no splash picture being displayed during the boot process.

If you need a little help you can download KickEdit to help you change the kicklayout file.
